Curaçao is a dry, elongated and slightly hilly island, measuring about 64 kilometres from northwest to southeast. It is one of the southern Caribbean islands, the largest of the Netherlands Antilles. On the north side of Curaçao you will find rocks and high waves, here is a constant strong wind. On the south coast you'll find golden beaches.

Divers and snorkellers can enjoy beautiful coral reefs, swimming turtles and beautiful anemone fish that swim away before your eyes.
Various resorts offer the possibility of buying a flat or villa around Jan Thiel Bay, if you buy your second home in this bay, you will have free access to the beach.
Willemstad The capital and only city of Curacao, the beautiful Willemstad. Colourful buildings, museums and plenty of shops. If you like crowds, your dream house might be in Willemstad. For tourists, Willemstad is a place where they must have been during their holiday, and many tourists visit this city during their holiday. If you want to buy a house in Willemstad, you should take a look at the four well known districts: Otrobanda, Punda, Pietermaai and Scharloo, these districts are very popular with tourists.
Otrobanda is located west of St. Anna Bay. This fortress has been refurbished in recent years, attracting more and more tourists to this part of Willemstad.
On the eastern side of the bay, the Punda district is situated. This district is seen as the centre of Willemstad with many shops and restaurants. In Punda district you will find the busy trading quay and the floating market.
The Pietermaai district is located east of Punda. This district has several boutique hotels, bars and restaurants.
Typical Caribbean buildings can be found in the Scharloo district. It is a stately district with much to tell about Willemstad's maritime history.
There are many houses for sale on Curacao, both flats and detached houses. Whether you choose a detached house or a flat, depends on your personal preferences and the purpose for which you buy the property. - Am I allowed to renovate, for example to create more bedrooms?
- When was the complex built
- What is the general condition of the complex
- What other requirements are imposed on the residents.

Just like in the Netherlands, in Curacao you pay taxes when purchasing a home. There are two types of taxes that apply to the purchase, transfer tax and property tax.
You pay this when you buy the property and it is a percentage of the purchase price of the property.
This is an annually recurring tax, you pay this tax as long as you own the property in Curacao. This tax expires when you sell your property.

A popular beach on Curaçao, is the Grote Knip, located in the west of Curaçao. This is one of the few beaches that can be visited for free. The beach has rocks on both sides, and therefore you can snorkel very well. Sometimes, local delicacies are sold on this beach.
In the north of Curaçao you will find the largest national park of the island. Here lies the Christoffel Park. The park can be traversed by bike or car and there are beautiful hiking trails. Climbing the Christoffel mountain is also worthwhile, at the top of which you have a phenomenal view over the whole island.
A small, uninhabited, tropical island, that is Klein Curacao. Klein Curacao is about ten kilometres southeast of Curacao. The island is really small, namely two square metres, but the beaches are beautifully white and the water is bright blue.
