A popular holiday destination, but also a wonderful place to live. The green and fertile island of Sint Maarten. Saint Martin belongs to the Windward Islands and is divided into the Dutch Saint Martin and the French Saint Martin.

The northern part is the French Saint Martin, this French part of Sint Maarten is also the largest with its 53 square kilometres. In this part you pay with euros and the cars have French number plates.

The Dutch part of the island is about 35% smaller than the French part, namely 34 square kilometres. This is an independent country with its own currency.
